Inner + Outer Beauty


RITUAL • What are your daily inner + outer rituals to cultivate beauty and radiance?

I am a minimalist. I wake up around 7:30am and the first thing I do is meditate. Right now I am in the middle of a 40 day challenge of practicing the Gyan Chakra Kriya to brighten my aura. Immediately after I make a cup of coffee with almond milk and journal for 30 minutes filling up 3 pages in my moleskin. I rinse my face with warm water and apply Everyday Oil to my body and face. At night, I like to have a cup of peppermint tea with a spoonful of raw, local honey and enjoy a nice book in bed. 


NOURISH • What are your staples for beauty + wellness + radiance?

I like to start my day with a healthy breakfast - two eggs with veggies, whole wheat english muffin and coffee. For lunch, I like to have a green smoothie packed with superfoods such as flaxseed, chia seeds, Sun Potion’s Mucuna Pruriens. For dinner, I let myself eat anything as I’ve most likely been pretty “good” earlier in the day. It’s all about balance. To nourish my heart, I spend time with my friends in person or connecting with long-distance friends over FaceTime. 


BODY • How do you keep your body healthy, strong, and powerful?

It’s important for me to move my body so I try to take a yoga class at Modo or Yoga to the People in Williamsburg everyday. But, because I am a freelancer, this could mean that I am doing a lot of different things and the only thing my body needs sometimes is down time to watch the sunset or sit under a tree at McCarren park and just reset. 


MIND • How do you stay grounded, confident, and centered in this modern day craziness we call life?

Meditation is my secret. It’s during those quiet times I can connect with myself long enough to pay attention to what it wants/needs to live my truest life. The more I clear my intuition, the easier it is to follow what my heart wants, and the more confident I become in my decisions on life because they are inline with my truest intentions. I also listen to a lot of lectures by Yogi Bhajan on YouTube or listen to The Secret by Rhonda Byrne


SPIRIT • BENSHEN means 'root of the spirit' - how do you root your spirit into your life, which in turn, keeps your body beautiful, healthy, and radiant?

I’ve been searching for a deeper meaning of my life for as long as I can remember. Then, I discovered Sobagh Kriya and I practiced this for 40 days. It cleared my intuition enough to know exactly what I wanted and to take those steps to making it happen. I would recommend starting there. Now, I can feel when something is in line with my truest intentions and can make decisions from that point of clarity. Deep down I know that I am destined for greatness and that I have all the tools inside me to make them a reality. It’s all about self-love, confidence and putting in the hard work.
